Jeremiah A. Quane is a founding partner in Quane Jones McColl, PLLC. He is engaged in the active full-time practice of law in his specialties of defending a variety of tort cases that cover multiple types of litigated claims and trials. He has conducted jury trials in over 170 cases throughout the State of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana, and he has tried more civil cases than any other current active practicing attorney in the State of Idaho. His representation of insurance companies, their insureds and self-insured entities are the exclusive and only type of his practice and they have and do involve cases in the areas of product liability, motor vehicle , premises liability, landlord tenant, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, accountant malpractice, podiatry and veterinary malpractice, health care providers, drug manufacturers, employment, life and health insurers, first priority claims, school districts, governmental entities, irrigation districts, insurance agents, hospitals, and virtually every type of risk that is underwritten by insurance companies or assumed by self-insured companies.

He has tried and won more medical malpractice defense cases than any other attorney in the State of Idaho.

Other cases of note include a case that involved the death of 91 miners in a mine fire in which he represented the manufacturer and supplier of mine equipment and products that allegedly caused the fire and death of the 91 miners.

Before obtaining his law degree, he played professional baseball for several years. He is a long time member of the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and the holder of an AV® rating by Martindale Hubbell for excellence, competence, integrity and skill. Mr. Quane frequently speaks to physicians, medical clinics and medical groups on malpractice issues, loss prevention, practice guidelines and patient relationships at the request of and for insurance companies and their insureds and he has an active practice representing physicians before the Idaho State Board of Medicine in disciplining matters. He has accumulated numerous legal memoranda, technical publications, identity of expert witnesses, and other material that allows him to handle cases without the need of original research and investigation that is a financial benefit to his clients. This eliminates the need to undertake repeated work for his clients in many instances.

Before creating the firm of Quane Jones McColl, he was the founder and lead attorney in his firm and Quane Jones McColl is the continuation of his prior firm to the extent that it includes Mr. Jones and Mr. McColl. Mr. Quane is always available to provide advice to and answer questions of clients without charge and this is a frequent service he enjoys and undertakes.

Terrence S. Jones

Terrence S. Jones

Terrence S. Jones is a founding partner in Quane Jones McColl, PLLC. For seventeen years Mr. Jones’ practice has been focused practice significantly in the specialty of medical malpractice matters, licensing and disciplinary issues, and the defense of health care professionals and long term care facilities throughout the entire state of Idaho. Mr. Jones has made several presentations to physicians at seminars throughout Idaho relative to claim prevention, regulation compliance, and educational matters regarding malpractice and litigation. In addition to the defense of physicians in numerous medical specialties, Mr. Jones has also represented psychologists, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, counselors, dentists and other medical support staff.

Mr. Jones has a significant background in agriculture due to a strong family presence in the vocation of farming, dairy operations and dairy products’ processing. Given this experience, Mr. Jones enjoys handling the defense of a number of large loss claims involving dairy operations, butter production, cheese production, feed contamination, lost milk production, and animal death. Mr. Jones’ agricultural roots also give him unique knowledge of heavy equipment, food production processing, machining and fabrication. These skills have aided in allowing Mr. Jones to also excel in the defense of Insureds and companies in these related fields including product liability and heavy equipment liability.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of Boise State University in 1994 where he received his degree in governmental relations. He received his law degree with honors from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1998. While in law school, Mr. Jones served as an editor for the Idaho Law Review in addition to publishing in the complex area of qualified terminal interest property trusts and their tax implications for estate planning purposes. Upon completing his legal education, Mr. Jones went on to serve a judicial clerkship with the Honorable D. Duff McKee, Senior Judge of the Fourth Judicial District. Prior to joining Quane Jones McColl, Mr. Jones, Mr. McColl and Mr. Quane practiced at a Boise firm, where Mr. Jones was a partner.

Mr. Jones has been involved with the Defense Research Institute, the Health Law section of the Idaho State Bar, and the American Inns of Court # 130. Mr. Jones is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been annually ranked as a Mountain States Super Lawyer®. He is a member of the Idaho bar and is admitted to practice in state and federal courts. Mr. Jones lives in Boise with wife Junie and family of five boys. He enjoys spending time at the family farm in Emmett, Idaho, coaching his boys’ baseball and football teams and boating.

Matthew F. McColl

Matthew F. McColl

Matthew F. McColl is a founding partner in Quane Jones McColl, PLLC. Matt is a second generation Idaho lawyer. Matt’s litigation practice is state-wide. He routinely represents clients in North, Central, Southwest and Eastern Idaho. Matt has a passion for the defense of health care providers in all phases of malpractice litigation and before state licensing boards. Matt regularly represents physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, psychologists, nurse anesthetists, licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists as well as hospitals and medical clinics and all medical staff. Matt’s defense of health care providers extends to representation in insurance reimbursement claims and counseling on HIPAA and other regulatory matters. He regularly speaks to physicians about medical risk avoidance throughout the state.

Matt’s practice also includes defense in product liability and construction defect claims and he handles insurance coverage disputes, bad faith and real estate litigation. Matt’s jury trial experience includes complex medical malpractice actions and he has handled appeals and argued before the Idaho Supreme Court.

Matt grew up in Eagle, Idaho. He graduated cum laude from The College of Idaho with a B.A. in political science and a minor in history. At the College, Matt wrote for The Coyote, was on the Student Senate, and played soccer for the ’Yotes. Matt has since served on the College’s Alumni Board and chaired a scholarship committee.

Matt was a graduate and law student at the University of Utah, where he studied political theory, international relations, early American history and the law. Matt was a graduate assistant, teaching U.S. National Government and American Foreign Policy. Matt’s litigation experience began at the U, when he obtained a 3rd Year Limited Law License and represented clients for the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake.

After law school Matt served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Kathryn A. Sticklen of the Idaho Fourth Judicial District assisting in all phases of Judge Sticklen’s Ada and Boise County dockets as well as her service on the Ada County Drug Court.

Prior to joining Quane Jones McColl, Matt, Terry Jones and Jerry Quane practiced at a Boise firm, where Matt was a partner.

Matt has chaired the 4th District Bar’s CLE Program and the Idaho Court Appointed Special Advocate Grant Committee. He was previously an advisor to the Ada County Youth Court. Matt is currently on the 4th District CASA Attorney Advisory Panel and he has represented volunteer guardians ad litem in dozens of complex child protection proceedings.

Matt and his family are very active in Idaho’s outdoors and enjoy skiing, biking, hiking, fishing and camping.

George R. Lyons

George R. Lyons

George R. Lyons is an associate at Quane Jones McColl, PLLC. Mr. Lyons was raised in Boise, and is a proud graduate of Boise High School. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2009, where he completed part of his studies at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Mr. Lyons received his J.D. from the University of Colorado in 2013.
Mr. Lyons represents individuals and businesses across Idaho in a variety of civil litigation matters, with a focus on the defense of medical malpractice claims. He is also involved with the firm’s agricultural and subrogation litigation practices. Prior to joining Quane Jones McColl in 2016, Mr. Lyons was an associate at a respected civil litigation firm in Denver, Colorado. His Colorado practice focused on complex commercial litigation and insurance coverage matters.
During law school, Mr. Lyons worked for two years as a student law clerk, and spent a semester as an extern on the pro-bono defense team of a federal capital murder defendant. He also received the University of Colorado’s “William O. DeSouchet Award” for trial advocacy, and its “Excellence in Clinical Education Award” for his appellate work on a civil forfeiture dispute before the Colorado Supreme Court.
Mr. Lyons lives in Boise with his wife, a fellow Boise High graduate. They are both avid skiers and outdoor enthusiasts. In his spare time, Mr. Lyons also likes to cook and participate in Idaho’s burgeoning craft brewing scene.
